Karaoke for Rabbi E.
We wrote this a couple of years ago, as a roast/toast to one of our school's all-time favorite teachers (who is also a Beatles fan), known to all as "Rabbi E."
The kids were going to sing it to him at the end of the year, but they chickened out.
Rabbi E. (To the tune of "Let it Be" by The Beatles)
When I find myself in Talmud trouble,
My dear rebbe comes to me
speaking words of Torah, Rabbi E.
And when I open up my lunch
he is standing right in front of me
waiting for some pizza, Rabbi E.
Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E.
Whisper words of wisdom, Rabbi E.
And when it seems that Rav and Shmuel
completely disagree,
show us there's an answer, Rabbi E.
For though it's a real machlochet,
there is still a chance that they agree
It's all b'shaim shamayim, Rabbi E.
Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E.
Give us all new nick names, Rabbi E.
Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E.
Tell us a dvar Torah, Rabbi E.
Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E.
Make us love the Talmud, Rabbi E.
When my sister ate my homework,
have some rachmanot for me.
Let me hand it in tomorrow, Rabbi E.
I wake up to the sound of Eema
once again reminding me,
Talmud test tomorrow with, Rabbi E.
Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E.
You make us love the Talmud, Rabbi E.
Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E.
Give us all a nickname, Rabbi E.
Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E, Rabbi E.
Thank you for your wisdom, Rabbi E.

This is GREAT! How did Rabbi E. react?
What, is it Beatles Day in the JBlogosphere? Did you read Batya's post:
Hey, Paul
Nice that Rabbi E. is so appreciated.
Ilana Davita,
Thanks! I just sent him the link, so we'll see.
Leora,
Rabbi E. is quite the entertainer. He gives every kid a unique nick-name, and jokingly threatens to snarf their lunches.
Thanks for the link to Batya's post. Great minds post alike, I guess!
Absolutely adorable. My "Hey, Paul" would have been better if I wasn't sick with a summer flu.
I do this to all sorts of songs. Did you see Sung To The Tune Of...?
Too bad I wasn't your kids teachers. I woulda loved to get something like this! It's so beautiful to see personalized thanks.
I just read this. Thank you very much. Look forward to seeing everyone next week; hope you had a great summer.
Rabbi E.
